The family's ancestral orchard is located within 1km from the property, and guests can make arrangements with the staff to visit the orchard to pick seasonal fruits, or take part in agricultural activities or the olive oil-making process. My visit to Vavla exceeded my expectations (and my hopes) in every way. The Vavla Rustic Retreat is a beautifully restored traditional house, and each of the 5 units has everything a visitor might need. I didn't do much cooking, but I could have, with all pots, pans, and electronic appliances available. Any questions I had were quickly answered by Kelley (owner/manager). I was actually sad to leave at the end of my stay because I felt so comfortable at the Vavla Rustic Retreat and enjoyed the v. all reviews
